Phytic acid is referred to as an anti-nutrient because, although it is naturally occurring, in higher amounts, it can block nutrient absorption or hinder the digestion process.

Asana Foods uses only organically-grown cacao beans grown in high–elevation volcanic soil in Ecuador. Soaked by rain and deep mountain springs, the cacao pods are harvested only when fully mature and ripe. The organic arriba cacao beans are removed from the sweet white meat of the fruit. Then, they are allowed to ferment, effectively reducing the phytic-acid content.

These gluten-free cacao beans are highly bio-available and raw and contain little caffeine, but pack a natural energy punch and may enhance the uptake of serotonin and other natural-feel-good neurotransmitters.
